The opening of the medical campus in Davos Wolfgang in 2019 marked a significant milestone. The independent partners CK-CARE (Christine Kühne – Center for Allergy Research and Education), SIAF (Swiss Institute of Allergy and Asthma Research), HGK (High Altitude Clinic) Davos, Cardio-CARE AG, and Davos BioSciences AG are working closely together to establish a unique center in this field. The campus building was completed and became operational in mid-2019.
Christine Kühne – Center for Allergy Research and Education (CK-CARE)
Through research and education, deficits in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of allergy sufferers are to be remedied, thus making an important contribution to the well-being of our patients. Thanks to CK-CARE, clinical pictures, above all atopic dermatitis, can be investigated in a unique way in a network of international experts and locations.
Cardio-CARE AG
Cardio-CARE AG is a collaboration between the Kühne Foundation, the University Hospital Zurich (USZ), and the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), aimed at researching the causes of heart disease. The primary focus is on gaining a better understanding of the underlying causes of cardiovascular diseases. Additionally, Cardio-CARE is methodologically involved in various studies aimed at improving the diagnosis or treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
Davos BioSciences AG (DBS)
DBS is a nonprofit biotech SME of the Kühne Foundation. DBS provides high-quality expertise in the areas of biobanking and laboratory services. Its main expertise today lies in atopic dermatitis, autoimmune diseases, and other allergic conditions. DBS supports research-driven pharmaceutical companies in drug development, biomarker discovery and validation, and clinical trials. The goal is to accelerate the discovery and development of new diagnostics and therapeutic agents.
Hochgebirgsklinik Davos (HGK)
The HGK Davos is an internationally recognized specialist clinic for allergies, lung and respiratory diseases, cardiology, and dermatology. From outpatient care to acute pneumological interventions and inpatient rehabilitation for children, adolescents, and adults, the specialty clinic offers a comprehensive medical spectrum. The clinic has approximately 170 beds, including single and family rooms.
Swiss Institute of Allergy and Asthma Research (SIAF)
The SIAF is a department of the Swiss Foundation for High Altitude Climate and Medicine Davos (SFI) and is affiliated with the University of Zurich. The research focuses on fundamental studies in the fields of allergy and asthma.
