The Kühne Foundation, one of the largest foundations in Europe, is strengthening its research in the fields of allergology and cardiology at the Davos site. On 15 October 2024, the second research building on the Davos medical campus will be opened in the presence of personalities from science, politics and business.
The new building with an area of around 3,000m2 and an investment volume of CHF 22 million will be used by the Kühne Foundation’s CK-CARE, Cardio-CARE and Davos BioSciences medical programmes. The centre will house 40 scientists with their patient-oriented and innovative projects, in close cooperation with the Hochgebirgsklinik (HGK), the University Hospitals of Zurich (USZ) and Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) and the University of Zurich. On the other hand, scientists supported by the canton, the municipality, the University of Zurich and other partners find an optimal infrastructure here. Research Building I has been home to the world-renowned Swiss Institute for Allergy and Asthma Research (SIAF) since 2019, which maintains intensive scientific collaborations with the Foundation’s medical programmes.
